I am an older Christian lady of African Canadian heritage and a retired nurse. I have been doing Homestay for the past 9 years with the University of Manitoba. I have a 4 level split home in Southdale with 2 bedrooms available. Our home is clean, quiet, and organized. I have 2 bedroom for a female students on upper level . Bathroom will be shared . 1 bedroom on lower level . You will have your own bathroom here. Attached to our home is a Lovely sunroom with barbecue for you to sit in and enjoy in summer, and nicely decorated front and back yard
Winnipeg Transit Bus # 75 is 20 minutes from the University of Manitoba. The bus stop is 1 block from my home, a 5-minute walk. St. Vital Shopping Centre is close by. You will have your own key, laundry facilities, free wi-fi, internet, and cable tv. Meals are included. you will make your own breakfast and lunch, I will make dinner/supper.
I will assure you that you as an International student will have an authentic Canadian experience — including food, entertainment, shops, and sightseeing. As a homestay hostess, I can make these exciting new experiences possible and help you to bridge the cultural divide while supporting your English language skills through daily interaction. I do prefer that students share the evening meal with other students and are willing to cook their favorite food from their country once a week. This is an excellent way to keep friends and communication open. I am Looking forward to making your homestay a memorable experience.
